iterasi is a simple browser-based tool for saving any web page—dynamically generated or otherwise—with the click of a button. The dynamic content is saved immediately—frozen in that moment in time—in an accessible HTML format and stored to a secure personal account. With iterasi, any web page can be saved, searched and shared anytime, from anywhere, forever.
iterasi defines "dynamic" as any web page that changes from its initial download—either from the server’s knowledge of the user or actions of the user on the site. Today, even the simplest web pages are built and customized on-the-fly using dynamic web technologies like CSS, AJAX and database-driven content. In the early web, pages only changed when the user clicked on a new link. Now, new technologies allow the browser to send messages to the server at any point in time, potentially modifying part or all of the page without requiring specific user interaction. Bookmarking and history only point to the initial state of the page and often not the view that the user wanted to save. Because of this, valuable personal information can be lost forever. When a user asks for the page to be saved by iterasi, the page is captured in its exact state, at that moment, including all personal information.
Similar to a notary guaranteeing the authenticity of a document, iterasi is verifying the authenticity of the content in its exact state at the time it was notarized. Notarizing is easy. The iterasi application lives on a web-browser toolbar. When a user wants to save a page, one click on the Notarize button instantly transfers the page to a secure personal account, providing a high-fidelity copy of the page, including images, forms, transactions, receipts, confirmations and personalized content.
Bookmarking, Favorites and Browser History provide a way of managing the location of a page. The problem is that these pages can change and no longer represent what the user wanted to save. It is increasingly common for pages to change in meaningful ways based on a user’s interaction. Also, a page may completely disappear over time—a condition known as "linkrot." iterasi addresses these problems by capturing the content of a page and saving it in its native form so you can search or share your pages at anytime, from anywhere, indefinitely.
iterasi includes a set of tools to help you manage your personal web experience, including:
Every saved page may be shared. Each page has "share" buttons that can be clicked to send the page in an email message. Add the recipients for the email, a personal message and click send. The recipient will receive the email with a link and a thumbnail image they may click to view the saved page.
Anyone may see a shared page. No log in is required. A recipient who receives a shared web page may also send it to other people.
All saved web pages have an embed code. The embed code may be copied and pasted into a web page, blog or social network. The embed code is a clickable thumbnail image of the saved page.
